After 30 years of photographing Connecticut from end to end for corporate and tourism clients, Jack McConnell started to ask himself, "Wheres the Connecticut countryside?" No matter what lens he locked onto the front of his camera, it was hard not to include a rooftop or chimney. He’d follow a road to a distant lake or pond expecting ducks, only to see speedboats and docks. Clients were hungry for that special photo that said pristine rural landscape, but all Jack found was more and more evidence of suburbia.
