Connecticut's 360,000 acres of productive farmland, so vital to our quality of life, contribute fresh food, scenic beauty and wildlife habitat. But Connecticut is losing 9,000 acres of farmland to development each year. Without vigorous public and private effort, at the current rate of loss, Connecticut will cease to have any significant tracts of farmland left by the middle of the century.
