The Rocks at Fort Pownal, reveal the original foundation stones of Fort Pownal, built to protect the entrance of the Penobscot River from the British Navy during the Revolutionary War.
Jack painted the B&W photo with Marshall's transparent oils applied with cotton swabs, sable brushes, and determined hand-rubbing techniques, and using painterly finishes like stippling, smudging, and layering of colors. |
