A brother and sister wait for a bus in Portugal, standing in front of a sign that spells out the mileage to the village they’re attempting to reach. They try out their English on Jack and tell him their weekend plans for a family get-together at their cousins’ house in the country.
Unlike in America, teens in Portugal don’t have personal automobiles or indulgent parents to take them everywhere they want to go. But these two have an independent spirit, and have no fear of travel as long as they go together. |
